Your wedding day can be more than just an opportunity to show your love. Below are a few of our favorite ways to get involved. Have more thoughts on how we can give back?

Give your guests the chance to give back

We aren’t saying skip the traditional registry, but maybe you want to have the option for guests to donate to a charity of your choice in addition to buying you a blender. Lots of couples register at multiple places anyways, so what’s one more? The I Do Foundation lets guests donate to the charity of your choice via its secure website.

Donate Your Leftover Food

Chances are you and your wonderful guests might not finish the feast you have so generously provided. Give a local shelter the heads up that there might be some extra morsels. Coordinate with your venue to set up a time for the shelter to collect the leftovers. Need help locating an institution? Feeding America is a great starting point – they will be able to point you in the right direction.

Rebloom

With Rebloom, you can opt to donate your stunning florals to help raise money for your favorite charity, and even repurpose them for another event. How it works is simple: Once your event is over, Rebloom’s team will pick up your flowers, refrigerate them overnight, then sell them at a heavy discount to their users, and ultimately return a large portion of the proceeds to your charity of choice. Stop and smell the roses—this one’s a no-brainer. Visit Rebloom’s website for more informaton.

Repeat Roses

Why waste beautiful wedding flowers after the reception is over? Repeat Roses creates an opportunity to “pay-it-forward” with flowers. They will collect your event arrangements and repurpose them to deliver a spot of joy to those in your local community who will benefit most from the emotional boost, including residents in hospice care facilities, nursing homes and women’s shelters. Visit Repeat Roses’ website for more information.
